Privacy Statement

General Statement of Principles
Any information we gather at this web site is strictly for our use and is not shared with any other entity, public or private, for any reason - period. We will not sell or give away any lists or other data that we may retain and we do not purchase such information from other sources.

Statistical Data
Our servers track IP addresses and referring pages to help with site maintenance and fraud protection. This data is viewed only as anonymous statistics to show the busiest times of the day or week, pages with errors and page view statistics. This information is not used for any other purpose.

Personal Information Collected - Order Forms
With the exception of credit card info, we store the information from your order form to allow us to track issues or refer to a previous order to help provide some customer service. You may elect to have your information completely removed from this system by e-mailing us at Sales@GreatPlainsElectronics.com with your request. We do NOT gather or store any type of credit card information.

Web Site Security
The Great Plains Electronics web site is equipped with Extended Validation Secure Sockets Layer (EV-SSL) technology. SSL protocol was developed by Netscape Communications Corporation to enable encrypted, authenticated communications across the Internet. SSL uses public key encryption mechanisms, one of the strongest encryption methods available to protect data sent over the Internet. SSL provides 3 important services, all using public key techniques: Privacy, Authentication, and Message Integrity. Customer information sent is not discernible to anyone except the recipient.
Browsers that support the SSL encryption technology are called secure browsers. User account access and online orders to Great Plains Electronics must be placed using a secure browser. Your browser will automatically enter the secure mode when you access designated secure web pages.
When accessing our online order entry system using a secure browser, one can feel secure transmitting credit card or other confidential information sent over the Internet.

User Accounts
Establishing a user account is voluntary and not required for placement of an online order. All user account passwords are encrypted and cannot be viewed by others, including us. We cannot retrieve, set or modify user passwords. If you forget your account password, you can reset the password through the User Login web page. Order creation process is facilitated through the use of cookies placed on the user computer. These cookies are used solely for the creation of orders and by the "Remember Me" function. GPE cookies serve no other purpose.
GPE also uses Google reCAPTCHA for certain aspects of our website. As part of the reCAPTCHA package, Google also uses cookies to keep track of reCAPTCHA authorizations.

Information Correction or Removal
If you wish to correct, update or remove any information about you that may be in our records, please send us e-mail at Sales@GreatPlainsElectronics.com with the details of your request.
